Chandler Day

Hi! I’m Ms. Chandler, and I teach middle school Social Studies at Ocean Studies Charter School. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and have been teaching since 2014. I joined the Ocean Studies family in 2017, and in 2020, I went back to school for my degree in Educational Leadership. In 2022, I added my Middle School Social Studies certification, which gave me the opportunity to work with middle school students and officially make my way into the wonderful world of middle school. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to teach just about every grade level except high school, so I’ve definitely learned that every age comes with its own special kind of chaos!

One of the things I love most about Ocean Studies is that I get to do a little bit of everything! I teach, coach, and lead. I also love being part of our field labs and international trips. They’ve given me some truly once-in-a-lifetime experiences and have continued to fuel my own curiosity and love of learning. There’s something really cool about getting to learn alongside our students, experience new places, and see the world from a different perspective.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my fiancé, Andrew, staying active, being on the water, and traveling. I’m always happiest when I’m doing something, going somewhere, or planning the next adventure. I feel really lucky that I get to work at a school that gives me so many opportunities to teach, learn, explore, and have a little fun along the way.
