Jessica Martinez

Hello! I'm Jessica Martinez, and I have the privilege of serving as the Assistant Principal at Ocean Studies Charter School. This is my eighth year in administration and my thirteenth year as part of the Ocean Studies family. Every year has deepened my love for this incredible school, our dedicated staff, and, most importantly, our amazing students!

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Tourism Development and Management from Arizona State University before following my dream of island life to the Florida Keys. After building a career in the tourism industry—including an unforgettable adventure living in Costa Rica—I discovered my true passion in education. Since then, I have earned my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and have been fortunate to grow into a leadership role where I get to support students, teachers, families, and our entire school community.

One of the things I love most about my job is that no two days are ever the same. Whether I'm working with students, supporting teachers, planning school initiatives, building community partnerships, or dreaming up new opportunities for our school, I truly get to do a little bit of everything—and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love Ocean Studies more than I can put into words, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a school that inspires curiosity, environmental stewardship, and a genuine love of learning.

When I'm not at school, you'll usually find me spending time with my husband, John, and my son, Zane, who proudly graduated from Ocean Studies. I enjoy cooking new recipes, practicing yoga outdoors, exploring the beautiful Florida Keys, and making memories with friends and family. I believe that education has the power to change lives, and I'm grateful every day to be part of helping our students grow into confident, compassionate leaders who will make a positive impact on the world!
