My name is Kerri Huffman.  I am an ESE Paraprofessional here at Ocean Studies.  This is my second year being a part of the Ocean Studies family and I couldn't be happier.  My job is unique here, whereas I get the privilege to know and interact with every student enrolled on campus.  I love being able to go into every classroom to support the students and teachers during times of core learning and have positive, supportive interactions with the students in all areas other than just curriculum.

My family and I moved to Key Largo from Illinois in 2018.  Previous to our move here I was a stay-at-home mom of two children.   When we moved down to Key Largo I became a substitute teacher here in the keys, primarily subbing at PKS and Treasure Village Montessori.  A few short months after I began subbing, I was offered a full-time position as a paraprofessional at Treasure Village Montessori.  I worked there for 3 ½ years as a para but primarily an aide to a student with disabilities. When my kids went into high school, I felt I needed a change.  I've always heard people in the community speak so highly of Ocean Studies and I took the opportunity to make a change and sought out to become part of the family.  I am happy to say that change was the best decision.

I love to travel, especially camping in our RV.  My husband and I are middle school sweethearts and have been together since 7th and 8th grade.  We got married in 1999 right after high school graduation.  My husband was enlisted in the Air Force, which was probably what sparked my love of traveling.  We have two amazing children.  My daughter Belle,  graduated Coral Shores in 2023 and is currently a freshman at the University of Central Florida.  My son Izaak is a junior at Coral Shores High School.  We have two very spoiled fur babies. Daisy, our teacup yorkie and Mako, our rescue from the Upper Keys Animal Shelter.
